A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Use your grappling hook to swing around challenging and fun levels! This game is currently a work in progress. I need all the feedback I can get to make this game great!

Mac build works you just have to install it through itch.io launcher :( This is because I don't have it code signed and Apple doesn't like that.

WASD to move and swing around.

Swinging is very slow, so gravity gain and more air handling will improve it very much.

Levels are good, try to add some double jumps and wall runs, im sure u can do a solid lvls with new mechs. Maybe add some traps like in chineese games, your visual fits perfectly in that style of parkourish "sport-race" .

Hope ull not leave this project.

If anyone says this is a Karlson copy then FUCK YOU the only thing similar to karlson is the grappling hook

Man, seriously! Its awesome. I was leaning left and right while swinging, in real life! The minimalist look is great.

You can add a story in this game, by placing text in air, just like "level complete" text.  As the player travels, he gets to know the story more. The movement mechanics could be better, but its challenging and fun the way it is.

After extracting, clicking on the app:

“The application “Mac Build.app” can’t be opened. “

Absolutely LOVE this. Swinging is a bit wonky from time to time but its insanely fun! Maybe you could add a freeplay mode where you swing around a large map or city? Or maybe a way to import maps? Either way really cool and I cant wait to see what gets added next!

Thanks for the kind words! I am also excited to add things to this game!

The gameplay definitely has fun elements. It feels good when you get swinging, but the issue is, you rarely get swinging enough for it to be satisfying. The only times I got real momentum were going sideways while grappling. It seems like that really gives you a speed boost, and using that I was able to soar above the map in some places. By grappling far above you, you can go from a dead hang to your grapple line being totally horizontal. This makes an easy way to gain height.

Judging from existing games, I think the swinging would feel more satisfying if your character was affected more heavily by gravity. When you fall faster, you have more potential to turn downward movement into forward or upward movement. Also, increasing the gravity would help prevent you from gaining height when it doesn't feel legitimate as described earlier.

If you're looking to make the side swinging parts more fun, instead of gaining a lot of speed from moving to the side, look into adding a sprint or similar mechanic so you can gain speed before leaving the ground.

I like the bounce pads quite a bit, and they could add some very fun and interesting bits to levels, but the mechanics of them are pretty wonky as is. I found it difficult to just get across the first segment with the tilted bounce pads; maybe look into the physics there.

Overall, I like what you have and would be excited to play around with where you take it from here. If you haven't already, check out A Story About My Uncle. It's a fantastic game that isn't too long, and really explores mechanics that seem pretty close to what you're trying to emulate. Best of luck!

Thank you so much for the feedback! You gave me some good insight on how I could improve the swinging.

I love the gameplay, one thing I would really like as an addition is some sort of leaderboard for fastest times!

really enjoy the game reminds me of surfing in cs or rocket jumping in tf2

I really love the concept of the game as I love grappling hooks in video games. The game is very fun when you are moving fast and have a lot of space to manoeuvre. The issue with the game is that the controls feel very floaty and a bit unresponsive. The way you build up momentum is a bit strange as I only really got speed from going side to side. Also, there were many times when I was clearly close enough to grapple onto something but I didn't. This problem could be fixed by adding some sort of indication that you can or can't grapple onto a block or maybe making sure that things that you should be able to grapple on you can actually grapple on. Another small problem is that the environments are a bit plain and lacking detail but I assume this will change the more the game is developed. With some refinements I can see this being an indie hit.

I really appreciate the feedback! I'll look into the speed and grappling issues. I want the game to really have a nice flow to it.

I want to play but my pc died today

aww hopefully you can get it fixed up man!

Nope, it's really dead now

Mine died a few days ago, I plan to be playing this soon after I get it running again!

Let me donate to you!

Looks awesome, physics are a bit slow but its great!

This is great
